Becoming Jane

I really enjoyed the movie. It shows how the book Pride and Prejudice came to be and why. It helped us understand Jane Austen a bit more. The connections between the movie and the book as very similar. The mothers only goal was to get her daughters married. In order for either Jane or Elizabeth to get married had to be because of love and nothing else. Not even the money was important to them. In the movie Jane decides to run away and in the book Lydia runs away. The movie is saying that being independent is good and that you can actually be successful without having someone on your side.

  1. I agree with Mariana the main connections Mrs. Austen trying to get her daughters married just like Mrs. Bennet trying to marry her own daughters. Similarities such as Jane running away like in the book Lydia runs away.

  2. I agree, she had to get married for the right reasons, But I don't know if you can make a comparison with lydia and jane running away. Lydia was just stupid.
