Q: Of all the short stories we've read this quarter, which is your favorite? Why?
Make your reasons as descriptive as possible. Don't just write, for example, "I like the story because it was crazy." BE SPECIFIC. WHY is it crazy???
A: My favorite story from all the stories we've read is Teenage Wasteland, beside it being a great song it is also a great story. I like the story because it talks from the mother's perspective and what she thinks of Donny and his actions. It makes me think about my actions and how my mom feels. I think that Daisy did a good job raising Donny but she shouldn't of left his tutor take complete control over the school situation. If she saw that her son was improving when she was helping him then she should hired the tutor but continued to be involved with the studies. Overall the story was good because of the structure it has, makes you want to continue reading the story.

ReplyDeletewell criss, i liked the story too!:D it wasn't my favorite but it was my second favorite. I think all parents should read this story because some of them honestly don't know what goes on in the sons/daughters life's. This could really help a lot of relationships between parents and their children.
ReplyDeleteI liked the story too it was scary! But I disagree with mariana because I think that kids should think about their parents before acting. No parent is going to fully understand whats going on and they are always going to make mistakes. I think her son was still extremely immature for running away and doing all the things he did.
ReplyDeleteI so liked this story because as a teenager we sometimes do dumb things. E
ReplyDeleteTeenagers now either drink or smoke or do those wrong things because they feel like they can't talk to their parents. I sometimes feel like I can't talk to anyone about what happens or what's going on. Some teenagers also will feel like their parents won't understand where their son or daughter is coming from. But this is one of my favorite stories.
I totally agree with kandy...teenagers don't think about the people around them that can also be affected by the problem they are causing
