FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Q:What are your first impressions of Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet? Why? Which character do you prefer? Why?
A:My first impressions of Mr. Bennet are that he looks out for his daughters but not in the same way that most parents during this time period would. He thinks that his daughters do not really need a man to survive even though he knows that they do need to have a man to help them out financially. I think that Mrs. Bennet is to caught up on trying to marry her daughters especially Jane because she is the oldest but she isn't really focusing on her other daughters and what they want. Mrs. Bennet also seems to put aside Elizabeth and exposing Jane's beauty from any of her other daughters. I prefer Mr. Bennet because he seems like he is more interested in his daughters learning and reading even though it is rare for women to read during this time period.

  1. I agree with you because Mr. Bennet does think his daughters do not need a man to support them. He is sarcastic to Mrs. Bennets's about the new neighbor because he does not see them to need a man.

  2. I agree with you also. Mr. Bennet does look out for his daughters but not like Ms. Bennet. That lady is something else. She is so desperate to find a man for her daughters. She's annoying!!!!
