Adrienne Rich's essay made me angry at some point. Just thinking about how women would get raped or abused just by walking home. This still happens here today. It happens to boys and girls. Not only do they get raped but also get kidnapped and sometimes are even sold for money. I also didn't like the fact that the professor threatened the women with grades. I haft hear these kind of things happening now a days. I disagree with the fact that women and men weren't equal. Men were more educated then women, but women were more smarter. I do agree with women wanting to be independent. Many women are very independent and can accomplish many things on their own. That can also graduate from college and become a successful person.

yea it made me mad too >~< when they said that they thought men were more awesome than women. Its liess women are way cooler and smarter. There are way many more women graduating than men.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it made me a little upset that how women and men couldn't sit in the same room to get the same education. I believe they could get the same education but the teachers (mostly men) didn't want them to have a equal eduaction.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that the two points you mentioned were the ones I also disagreed with. I also think that women saw that they were not being taken serious and decided not to take themselves serious. I say this because Rich mentioned that there were hardly any female students in the classes, which shows that some preferred to do nothing about the problem. Unlike Rich she decided to write this article and make a change.
ReplyDeleteThe essay didnt make me made when i came to the two points you mentioned. It just made me think; bt in the beginning i was a little upset. When i read "One or two held doctorates, but had een forced by the Depression(and by the fact they were women)to take secondary school teaching jobs.", that when i got upset. It wasnt fair nor was it right.
